Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium Endeavors to compile data on the cancers and other diseases that plague the communities surrounding the first above-ground atomic bomb test, Trinity Test on July 16, 1945, seeking justice for the unknowing, unwilling and uncompensated, innocent victims of the July 16, 1945, Trinity test in South-Central New Mexico. Downwinders in other states such as New Mexico, Idaho, Montana, Colorado and Guam and the remaining parts of Nevada, Arizona and Utah have been impacted. Founded in 2005 by Tina Cordova and the late Fred Tyler along with other residents of Tularosa. Since then, New Mexicans have been plagued with illnesses and cancers due to their over-exposure to radiation. The communities that have been impacted the most are rural, and many people can’t afford to pay for the treatments, medications, surgeries, co-pays, hotel stays, gas, and other costs that are involved in treating illness and cancer. Founded in 2005 by Tina Cordova and the late Fred Tyler along with other residents of Tularosa.
